2019 Porsche Macan vs 2019 Audi SQ5

Historically, Porsche has set the bar high for luxury, power, and performance. With its stunning new looks, new engine options, and more power than even its predecessors had, the latest Macan is sure to please. There are several trim levels available in this sporty and sophisticated luxury car, which is bound to give you plenty of enticing options. This year's Porsche features a new turbo-charged engine to boost power across the lineup. Its technology, notably the infotainment system, has been refreshed for the latest model year. The 2019 Macan has other notable features too, include wheels sized up to 21 inches, LED lights, and a uniform, elongated taillight that mirrors what you'll find on the Panamera and the Cayenne. The 2019 SQ5 also gets a powerful turbo-charged engine. However, its performance capacity doesn't quite match the Porsche's. The interior of this vehicle is comfortable and luxurious for the front occupants, but reviewers note that while pampering occupants in the front, it sacrifices amenities for passengers in the back.

When it comes to performance, the 2019 Macan puts on a show. The base engine gives the vehicle a maximum output of 248 HP at a range of 5,000 to 6,750 RRM. It has a torque output of 273 LB-FT between 1,600 and 4,500 RPM. This translates to an acceleration capacity of 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. The engine is matched to a seven-speed automatic transmission and its drivetrain is all-wheel drive. The Macan S, which is the higher trim, gets a more powerful engine that produces up to 348 HP. This gives it the ability to accelerate from 0-60 in just over five seconds. With the addition of the Sport Chrono Package, its acceleration drops to 4.9 seconds. The 2019 Audi SQ5 has an engine that matches the Macan S's power output. However, with a 0-60 acceleration of 5.1 seconds, it's not quite as fast.

Both the 2019 Porsche Macan and the Audi SQ5 are sporty, luxurious cars. The Porsche features bold designs and an innovative taillight that bears the Porsche logo. Four-point brake lights are standard, and the Macan gets distinct shoulders over the rear wheels. Its roof lines are sloped and accentuated, and every curve is defined to create a muscular appearance. This look, called the “flyline,” is a classic Porsche design feature. The Audi also features an innovative and sporty design. However, its LED lights are not as bold and aggressive. While the Macan is offered in a variety of intriguing colors, the Audi sticks to more conservative colors. So if you're looking for a car that stands out, the Macan gets the upper hand.

Interior Features

Both vehicles have a distinct interior, but once again the Porsche wins the prize for luxury and comfort. Standard amenities include an intuitive 10.9-inch touchscreen with a color HD display. The user-friendly interface features a user-friendly menu that lets you quickly access the infotainment system's primary functions. Three-zone climate control is standard to make sure everyone stays happy and comfortable. The Porsche's leather seats are about the most comfortable you'll find around, and its Bose sound system produces a deep, rich, high-quality sound. The SQ5, on the other hand, only offers leather seats as an available amenity. The infotainment system on the base model is just seven inches, which is much smaller than what the Porsche offers, and the sound system is not as high in quality.

If you're looking for a high-end, high-performance, prestigious luxury SUV, Porsche and Audi are top contenders. But when it comes down to interior amenities, style, and performance, the 2019 Macan beats the SQ5. We can tell you what both offer, but you'll have to try them out for yourself.
