The beautiful Porsche Taycan is proof that you do not have to forsake luxury to drive a green vehicle. This premium sedan is an all-electric, four-door vehicle that was initially released in 2020. With unrelenting appeal rooted in powerful capabilities, premium features, and a spectacular design, the Taycan could be the sedan you have been searching for. However, with the introduction of the 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, your all-electric options have grown more exciting. Are you eager to learn about the differences between the Taycan and the Taycan Cross Turismo?

The 2021 Taycan is offered in four trim levels. The base-level Taycan draws 321 horsepower from its electric motor. Turning on launch control gives you a short-term boost to 402 horsepower. You can also add the Performance Battery Plus pack to the base powertrain to enjoy 469 horsepower behind the wheel. At the top end of the spectrum, the Taycan Turbo S’s electric powertrain has an output of between 616 and 750 horsepower. The 2021 Taycan Cross Turismo is a wagon that is also available with two powertrain options. These deliver between 375 and 616 horsepower. Notably, the Taycan Cross Turismo comes with all-wheel drive and a two-speed auto transmission as standard equipment.

With their shared nameplate, you may not be surprised to learn that the Taycan and the Taycan Cross Turismo are visually similar in many ways. For example, they both have a quad-style headlight system with a broad yet tapered nose. They also have rigorous contouring that flows horizontally through the side panels to express a sense of forward momentum. The Taycan sedan’s roof has the distinctive look of a coupe. The rear shows off a premium spoiler mounted over a single LED lightbar.

On the other hand, the Taycan Cross Turismo has a flatter, more extended roofline. At the rear, it has a hatchback-like trunk with a longer spoiler. Like the sedan version, the wagon has an LED light bar running across its rear.

The Taycan and the Taycan Cross Turismo are both elite vehicles that are well-appointed with fine materials and advanced features. They share many of the same features and finishes at different trim levels. Equipment available in both models includes a premium sound system with satellite radio, remote vehicle monitoring, a curved instrument panel, wireless smartphone app connectivity, a navigation system, ambient interior lighting, lane-keep assist, parking sensors in the front and rear, forward collision mitigation and more.
