Porsche fans hold the 911 in reverence, and some even consider it the only real and true Porsche.  These 911 devotees view both the Boxster and the Cayman as interlopers, cars not worthy of the marque.  While the 911 is the cult car that has defined Porsche since the mid sixties, it is, in fact, preceded by the cars from which the Boxster and the Cayman were derived.
